WHAT SETS OUR STORY APART
One thing is for certain in this town; if you want or need anything, all you have to do is ask around. In the early phases of brainstorming this doc, I reached out to the people in my circle who I felt could speak to different topics. Good news; Everyone I reached out to said yes! But also, in every conversation I had, the person would say, “Oh, but you should really talk to X”.
Before I knew it, a sort of web for the doc had been developed, just by following the lead of the previous interview. Word of mouth is incredibly powerful in a community like Kingston, and it seems only appropriate that it should be the theme that carries us through these stories.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH & GIVING BACK
I will be interviewing with many amazing initiatives and programs over the course of this project. Each one will surely have needs for acquiring donations, volunteer sourcing, or raising awareness. For the programs and initiatives that will benefit from video as a resource, I will cut videos from the doc footage to help them raise awareness shortly after my session with them has wrapped. We have the footage and the messaging, it would be a shame not to re-purpose it as needed.
TIMELINE
We will follow a handful of key subjects over the course of the next 3 months as the situation continues to develop. Viewers won’t just get snippets about what’s happening at one point in time, but rather feel the satisfaction or heartbreak of following each stakeholder’s story. We can expect 2 or 3 follow-ups with the key subjects, each providing an update on where they are at, lessons learned, and outlook for the future.
